Use your Voice to make your Choice - Advance Planning Visit in Ireland

During the Carnival holidays, AZ@Kottonera participated in an Erasmus + advance planning visit in Ireland. This visit was hosted by the Ballyfermot Youth Service with the scope of discussing the youth exchange programme which will be hosted later in March 2018. Participating in this project there will be youth organisations from Poland, Estonia and Ireland. The theme of the project will focus on Drugs and Alcohol through peer education.

This project will provide an opportunity for 10 young people from AZ@Kottonera to travel to Ireland and meet with other young people coming from the different EU countries mentioned already. Besides the workshops the young people will have the opportunity to establish new friendships, learn about each countries cultures and traditions and participate in various adventure activities.

One of the highlights of the APV was the visit to the Killary Adventure Centre in Galway. The youth workers and the young people saw the hostel and the various facilities were the exchange will take place. During the APV focus was placed on the active involvement of the young people in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the exchange.

Yanica, the Maltese young person who travel along with Simon, youth worker from AZ@Kottonera, commented that the APV was fruitful as it gave the youth workers and young people to plan together the content of the exchange.
