Be Cool, Be Healthy, Do Sports - the APV Visit

‘Be Cool, Be Healthy, Do Sports’ is the next Erasmus+ project by Aġenzija Żgħażagħ at Kottonera (AŻ@K). As the title suggests, the main theme will outline sports and the positive impacts it leaves in young people. Together with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Ballyfermot Youth Services, Ireland and Metamorphosis Foundation, Macedonia will be joining in this project which will be held between the 24th November until the 01st December 2018 in Marsaxlokk Activity Centre, Malta. Twenty six youth will be participating in the project.

Work has already started with the Maltese youth meeting once a week to start prepare resources and implement different parts of the programme. Between the 8th and 10th October 2018, the youth workers met for the advanced planning visit (APV) to discuss the program so that the desired objectives of the project will be met in the best possible way putting into context the different needs of the young people.

During the APV the youth workers discussed the content of the programme, visited the youth hostel, finalised the youthpass journal and looked how to best prepare the young people for the exchange.

The main theme of the project targets different perspectives within sport such as the involvement of people with disabilities. Through one of the activities organised the young people will have the opportunity to play wheelchair basketball. The exchange aims not only to promote the beauty of sport but also seeking ways how it can unite people with different needs and in this case, countries.

Fruitful discussions were held and while remaining in contact, everyone is looking forward for this project to happen. For more information about the activities organised by AŻ@K, kindly visit our Facebook page AŻ at Kottonera Youth Cafe’.
