63 projects funded through our schemes for organisations

63 projects have been awarded funding by Aġenzija Zgħażagħ for projects in the community during 2019. Aġenzija Zgħażagħ operates three different funding schemes as part of its Support Programme for Youth Organisations. The A4U scheme provides financial support for the capacity building of youth organisations. Through this initiative, youth organisations invest in tangible assets for the benefit of the organisation. The Be Active Scheme provides financial support for the implementation of projects by young people in the community. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ also supports projects for music tuition of young people in band clubs through its ‘It-Taħriġ Mużikali taż-Żgħażagħ fil-Każini tal-Banda’ Scheme, in collaboration with Band Clubs Association.

This year a total of 40 projects will be developed through the financial support provided under the A4U and Be Active scheme. The projects vary in nature but most of the common aims of the projects are: structural refurbishment; purchasing and development of resources; website development; community service and awareness campaigns. Another 23 projects will be developed through the financial support to band clubs under the ‘It-Taħriġ Mużikali taż-Żgħażagħ fil-Każini tal-Banda’ scheme which serves to develop the capacity of the music schools within the various band clubs as spaces wherein to empower young people and showcase their talents.

Youth organisations and Band Clubs have received their grant award in a ceremony presided by the Hon. Clifton Grima, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Sport and Voluntary Organisations on Tuesday 29th January 2019, held at the Aġenzija Zgħażagħ Youth Village.
